| | | Sherri Antoniak | | Born and raised in Canada, Sherri spent much of her young years skiing both cross country and downhill. Before moving to California in 2007, she resided in Toronto where she established a 20 year career in the Life Science industry holding senior level positions in business development, marketing and corporate development. Sherri holds an honors degree in Political Science from the University of Toronto. Sherri shares her time between Aspen and Portola Valley working as a marketing consultant, while enjoying an active lifestyle of skiing, cycling and hiking with her husband, Tim Mills and her Basalt based family. | | Board President Tim Belinski | | Tim is the Vice President-Development for Joseph Freed and Associates. Tim worked as a CPA with a national accounting firm in Denver and then as Sport Obermeyer's Chief Financial Officer. In 2007, he joined the Willits development team and currently oversees the development activities of Willits Town Center in Basalt. While at Obermeyer, he also led the planning and development of Obermeyer Place, which received numerous awards and recognition, including Builder's Magazine 2008 Grand Finalist award for a mixed use community. Raised in Montana, he learned how to ski in blue jeans. His family is involved in the nordic and nordic combined programs at AVSC and his wife,Charla, serves on the school board of Aspen School District and works for Youth Zone. Tim also serves on Basalt's Wyly Community Art Center board and served two terms on the board of trustees of Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs. | | Andrew Ernemann | | An Aspen native, Andrew skied his way through the ranks of the Aspen Ski Club (now AVSC) before competing as a member of the U.S. Alpine Ski Team in the late 1990's. Andrew has a background in real estate sales & development. Before joining BJ Adams and Company in Aspen, Andrew worked for a local real estate developer, and held positions at McKinsey & Co. in Los Angeles, Hines in San Francisco, and Janus Capital in Denver. Andrew holds a Civil Engineering master's degree from Stanford University, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Married to Ashley, they have a wonderful son, Tillar, and an energetic golden retriever named Trigger. | | Bruce Etkin | | Bruce H. Etkin is a founding Member of the Etkin Johnson Group, a commercial real estate company formed originally in 1982. Bruce has gained a reputation for creative and innovative real estate solutions to meet client needs and requirements. Bruce received his B.S. in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado in 1973. He is a frequent conference and seminar speaker at ULI (Urban Land Institute), NAIOP (National Association of Industrial and Office Parks), and BOMA (Building and Owner Management Association). Bruce is the father of AVSC Freestyle skiers Josh, Cameron and Alexander. Bruce is also active with the Food Bank of the Rockies, Aspen Country Day School, Aspen Art Museum and the Colorado Conservation Trust. | | Marc Ganzi | | Marc Ganzi is the CEO of Global Tower Partners, the largest privately owned telecommunications tower operator in the U.S., a company he founded in 2003. Marc has enjoyed a successful career as a real estate and telecommunications entrepreneur. Prior to GTP, Marc was a consulting partner for DB Capital Partners in New York City, president of Apex Site Management and co-founder of Eureka Broadband Corporation. Marc has been named an award finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Florida award in both 2009 and 2010. Marc is the captain of the Audi Polo Team, winners of the C.V. Whitney Cup and U.S. Open Championships in 2009. Mr. Ganzi grew up skiing for AVSC in the 1980's alongside teammates Peter McBride and Ryan Smalls. Marc later went on to race for the University of Pennsylvania ski team from 1989 to 1993. Marc joined the Board in 2009 and his son, Grant, trained with the AVSC alpine team this past season. | | Chris Davenport | | Two-time World Champion skier Chris Davenport is widely regarded as one of the premier ski mountaineers in the world today. Among his many ski mountaineering achievements, in 2007 Chris became the first person to ski all fifty-four of Colorado's 14,000-foot peaks in less than one year. He has numerous first descents of peaks around the globe under his belt, and has spent his career traveling the world's great mountain ranges in search of perfect mountains to climb and ski. Chris has been featured in more than twenty ski films and recently Chris was the host announcer for all alpine ski racing at the Vancouver Olympics. He is also a TV commentator for ESPN, ABC sports, and Outside television. When not traveling the globe Chris resides in Aspen, Colorado with his wife and three boys. | | Carlos Ronay | | Carlos Ronay joined the AVSC Board in 2007. Carlos hails from Santa Monica, CA and is the son of a Native American father and a Mexican American mother. Carlos coaxed his car to Snowmass in 1964 and later returned to teach skiing with Fred Iselin at Aspen Highlands after serving in the military. He was Buttermilk ski patroller for 13 years and later drove a Snowcat for Aspen Skiing Company at Snowmass. Carlos sent three children through AVSC and currently lives with his companion Kathryn Rooney in Carbondale. Carlos has been a tireless advocate for AVSC's outreach efforts into underserved communities. | | Secretary Laurie Laing | | This is Laurie's second season on the AVSC Board. Originally from the Midwest, Laurie has been an Aspen resident for over 15 years. She has lived valley-wide and as a result, knows Independence Pass to Carbondale. An avid skier, cyclist, runner and snowshoer, she is a devoted mother of two, a great wife and real estate broker who lives for the great outdoors. Laurie is very involved in the community and is also currently involved in helping to create a new non-profit foundation for the real estate company she works for. | | John Rigney | | John Rigney recently joined AVSC's Board but has lived in Aspen for 20 years. Originally from Spring Lake, NJ, John came to the area "for a few months" after graduating Bucknell University and it soon became home. John is the Vice President of Sales and Events for Aspen Skiing Company, and sees many of our athletes excelling in various competitions across our mountains regularly. He and his wife Anna have three young boys - Liam, Matthew and Ryan - who love who love skiing and recreating in this beautiful playground. |
