All races are held on Aspen Mountain and are accessed by the 1A lift.

Entry Fee
$490- Includes all fees for race and training days, lift tickets, lunch, one ticket to Awards Banquet for athlete, event t-shirt, one ticket to Athlete party, gift bag.

Lift Tickets:
Complimentary for athletes. Parent/Guest ticket vouchers will be available for pick-up at registration and may be redeemed at any Aspen Skiing Company ticket window for discounted price. Coaches must pre-register and present a current USSA Coach Membership Card for lift tickets.

Parent Lift tickets are $62 per day. Please present your Junior National Parent Credential at any Aspen Skiing Company Lift Ticket window to purchase your discounted tickets.

Volunteers working more than 10 hours are eligible for a complimentary lift ticket.

From Aspen: Follow Highway 82 West out of town to the roundabout, exit on the Maroon Creek turn off. Follow Maroon Creek Drive past the Aspen High School your immediate left once you pass under the walking bridge onto Moore Drive. First left off of Moore Drive the AVSC Clubhouse is located on the right.

From Downvalley: Follow Highway 82 East towards Aspen to the roundabout, exit on the Maroon Creek turn off. Follow Maroon Creek Drive past the Aspen High School your immediate left once you pass under the walking bridge onto Moore Drive. First left off of Moore Drive the AVSC Clubhouse is located on the right.

Social Events

Thursday March 6th 4pm-6pm

Opening Ceremony, Gondola Plaza, Aspen

Location: Downtown Aspen, Bottom of the Gondola, at the intersection of Durant St. and Spring St.

All Junior National Athletes, Coaches, Parents and Guests are encouraged to participate in this Opening Ceremony Welcome. Please be prompt from 4-4:30 pm Regional team pictures will be taken. There will a performance by the Aspen band Slightly White, bib draw, and Welcome Speakers.

Directions: If driving, take Highway 82 eastbound into Aspen. Follow the s-curves onto Main St. Continue down Main St. and take a left onto Spring St. follow to the base of Aspen Mountain. Street parking is available for $1 per hour.

Friday March 7th 6pm-8pm

Athlete Party, Glenwood Hot Springs Pool- bring your bathing suit and towel!

Location: 401 N. River St., Glenwood Springs

All Junior National Athletes are invited to relax and enjoy the Hot Springs Pool, swimming, diving pool, waterslides and more. The swimming fun is over two blocks long. Refreshments will be provided.

Directions: From Aspen take State Highway 82 north 40 miles over the Colorado River to 6th Street. Turn right and the Lodge is 1 1/2 blocks on your left.

Coaches and Parent Social, Hotel Colorado, Glenwood Springs

Location: Across the street from the Athlete Party at the Hotel Colorado

All Coaches and Parents are invited to attend. Held in the historic Hotel Colorado this will be a chance to Parents and Coaches to enjoy this adult only event, cash bar and complimentary appetizers will be served. Tickets are $15 for Parents and available at the information booth. Please wear your parent credential, available at race headquarters.

Directions: See above directions for the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool.


Monday March 10th 6-9pm

Awards Ceremony, Sundeck Restaurant, on top of Aspen Mountain

Location: On top of Aspen Mountain

The awards banquet will be held at the Sundeck atop Aspen Mountain, gondola uploading will begin at 5:45pm, dress warmly for the 12-minute ride up the mountain. Awards will be presented to the top finishers for each race. Parent tickets will be available for sale for $45 per person at the information tent.

Directions: If driving, take Highway 82 eastbound into Aspen. Follow the s-curves onto Main St. Continue down Main St. and take a left onto Spring St. follow to the base of Aspen Mountain. Street parking is available for free after 5pm.

General Information

Volunteers:
Parents and volunteers are encouraged to volunteer for the races. Please pre-register by contacting Marlene Mickey at marvmm@sopris.net or call (970) 925-5493. Volunteers who work more than 10 hours will receive one complimentary lift ticket good for the remainder of the 2007/2008-ski season, redeemable on any of the four Area Mountains. AVSC parents can opt to either claim their work hours or claim the lift ticket but not both.

Parking:
All training and race events are held on the 1A side of Aspen Mountain. Parking is not available at the base. Parking in the town of Aspen is metered, has a 4-hour maximum, is $2 per hour, and can be hard to find.

Free Parking:
Buttermilk Ski Area Parking Lot:
Located 15 minutes from downtown Aspen off of Highway 82.
Park at the base lot and take the free skier shuttle to Aspen Mountain. Schedule listed below. Keep in mind the last free shuttle is at 4:45pm.
Buttermilk to Aspen (From base area stop)
8:15am-10:50am, 2:30-4:45pm, continuous.
10:50-2:20pm, every 15 minutes at :05, 20, 35, and: 50.

Sunday Aspen Street parking is free, but limited.

Aspen Paid Parking
Aspen Garage - Rio Grande Parking Plaza located at 472 Rio Grande Place just off Mill Street, offers all day parking for $15.00/day. This is about a 15-minute walk to the base of the race.

We encourage carpooling whenever possible.

Rules:
All USSA rules apply.

Meals:
All credentialed Junior National racers and coaches are invited to lunch at Bonnie's Restaurant located 1/2 way up Aspen Mountain. Lunch punches passes, and menus are on your pass, which is picked up at registration. You must have your pass and credential to receive lunch. Lunch passes may be used once per day any unused amount does not carryover and is not refundable. Additional food not included on the menu is the responsibility of the purchaser.
