How to choose a Program AVSC offers programs for all ability levels and interests. There are several factors to consider in selecting the most appropriate program for your child:
Applying for a Scholarship? If you are applying for a scholarship don't sign up online - download the registration and scholarship PDF form here! Please fill out the form and submit it to AVSC via mail or in person. Programs Base Camp - What is it? Base Camp consists of all of AVSC's weekend-only, recreational programs plus the after-school beginning Nordic programs. Fun, friendship and learning are the signatures of these programs. Professional instructors from Ski and Snowboard Schools of Aspen teach the ski and snowboard programs and AVSC coaches teach the Nordic programs.
Devo - What is it? Devo is short for Development Team. Young athletes ages 9 and up looking to progress in their favorite winter sport as part of a team should join Devo. All-mountain skill development, a bit of fall dryland training, some competition, camaraderie and goal setting are all parts of these programs. These programs are taught by AVSC coaching professionals with experience engaging this age group. Alpine Devo programs are called Age Class. Team AVSC - What is it? Team AVSC programs are the ones to join if your teen athlete is committed to making their mark in winter sports. These programs feature a talented staff of professional coaches who provide focused coaching, team building and training for success in competition and in life.
AVSC Devo and Team Progarms engage and challenge athletes to improve themselves in the areas of fitness, technique, tactics and results. Devo and Team programs help athletes set and achieve both athletic and personal goals. Pre-season dryland training may be included. Regardless of program, AVSC's experienced coaching staff stands ready to help aspiring athletes have fun and realize their dreams. Althetes must meet minimum participation requirements to remain on the team. Competition costs are not included in the program prices. Masters Program AVSC offers race training in alpine skiing, nordic skiing and snowboarding for adult athletes interested in improving their skills and/or competing in the Rocky Mountain Division Masters Division races. Please contact AVSC at 970-205-5100 for more information or to register. |
