AVSC BASE CAMP PROGRAMS |
|
  The Base Camp Programs invite young winter enthusiasts of all abilities to get involved with AVSC. Base Camp provides skiing and snowboarding lessons taught by Aspen Skiing Company instructors and Nordic lessons taught by the AVSC staff. Classes are available for pre-school ages through grade 12.
Children ages 3-1/2 through kindergarten can join Aspenauts
Never-ever skiers and snowboarders in first grade and up should try SnoBandits.
Our most popular program is SnoWarriors, ski and snowboarding lessons for beginners through experts in grades 1st through 6th.
For skiers and riders grades 7-12, AVSC offers AVSC All Mountain, a program geared for teens who want to ski or rider with up to 6 friends and have a say in where they go on the mountain.
SnoWarriors can try an alternate sport by signing up for the Cross-Over Program. Skiers can learn to snowboard and riders can learn to ski!
RidgeRunners, offered 2 days a week at Aspen Highlands, is an introduction to alpine and freestyle competition.
RidgeRiders is a new program for snowboarders at Buttermilk looking to develop as more complete riders and learn new terrain park and half-pipe skills.
All classes are organized based on age and ability. Scholarships are available for the SnoWarrior, AVSC All Mountain, RidgeRunner and RidgeRider programs only.

Alpine Aspenauts
Register Now!
Aspenauts is an alpine skiing program for children from 3-1/2 years through kindergarten age. Participants must have turned 3 years old before May 1, 2008 and be potty trained. Ski classes are offered for ability levels ranging from beginner to accomplished skier. Safety and fun are emphasized! Helmets required. Register Early! Enrollment is limited and the program may fill before the registration deadline. Includes lunch & season pass. Please register for your program before picking up free season pass. Just show up on the first day and we will put you in a group of like-minded skiers or get a bunch of friends together and build your own group ahead of time. Just let us know your ability level and what you want to do on the mountain and we will find the perfect pro to lead the way. Class size will be kept smaller to ensure that the whole group has the same mountain goals.

The goal is to develop all-mountain skiers with the ability to ski anywhere on the mountain (that is open and safe) under any conditions. Classes are based on age and ability. Field trips to other Aspen Skiing Company mountains and a series of fun competitions are included. Alpine/Freestyle RidgeRunners are invited to the Alpine Spring Break Racing Camp or Freestyle Spring Camp for an additional fee.

In this two day a week entry-level program children will be introduced to the Olympic sport of Nordic Combined. Children will be taught the basics of both cross-country skiing and Nordic Jumping. The program will introduce terrain park safety and the fun of competition to the novice and intermediate rider while challenging the advanced rider to improve and showcase their freeride and freestyle skills. Classes are grouped by ability and age and a desire for fun is required! Register Early! Enrollment is limited and the program may fill before the registration deadline. Price includes lift ticket on lesson days only. Participants may also purchase a full season pass from Aspen Skiing Company at the student rate.
