Snowboard Devo 1 Register Now!

Devo 1, formerly Snowboard SnoJourners, introduces riders ages 8-11 to riding in a team environment with AVSC. Emphasis is placed on maintaining positive team spirit, learning fundamental riding skills and developing mountain awareness. SnoJourners receive free-riding instruction, basic racing, half-pipe and slope-style instruction and coaching support in local USASA competitions. SnoJourners will ride one or two days per weekend and some holidays. SnoJourners will receive support at USASA Nationals if applicable. SnoJourners will ride approximately 30 days per season and receive support at USASA Nationals if applicable. Partial scholarships are available.

Snowboard Masters Program Register Now!

The AVSC Snowboard Masters program is geared toward the competitive and recreational adult rider looking for training opportunities with our professional coaching staff. AVSC alpine masters will train with Team 1 & 2 coaches and receive video analysis and technical guidance at any scheduled session. Weekday morning sessions will be available throughout the entire season in Alpine and Freestyle disciplines. AVSC masters will train on Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass. To insure program quality, we must limit the number of participants. The Snowboard Masters program is a two-day a week program focusing on foundation with attention paid to all competitive snowboard disciplines. For more information call Miah Wheeler at 205-5150.

Snowboard Devo 2 Register Now!

Devo 2, formerly Snowboard Challengers, is a training and competition program for riders ages 12 to 18 Riders may choose specific coaching in alpine, freestyle and boardercross. Technique, tactics and strategy will be covered including short-term goal setting. Sessions include training and competition days. Devo 2 athletes will compete in the local USASA series and may qualify for the USASA Nationals. Devo 2 athletes may also compete in regional events and national level USASA or USSA events as their qualification permits. USASA membership is required. Entry fees and travel expenses are not included in the program cost.

Snowboard Team 1 Register Now!

Team AVSC Snowboard is a two-tiered program for riders with a commitment to National, World Cup and Olympic level goals. Coaches will guide Team AVSC riders in establishing written long-term and short-term goals. Coaches will have milestone meetings with each individual rider during the season to assess and evaluate the riders progress. Dryland training is required 4 days a week after school from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. starting in September until the local lifts open. Riders will train in all venues of competitive snowboarding, including free riding, halfpipe, slopestyle, and speed events - boardercross and alpine disciplines. On-snow training emphasizes technique, tactics, strategy, and mental readiness. Two afternoon sessions per week (approx. 4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.) are required throughout the season for video review and physical conditioning.
Team 1 riders will compete in local USASA events and regional USSA events with a goal to medal in their age class in both the USASA Nationals and USSA Western Regional Championships. Both USASA membership and a USSA regional competition license are required.

On-snow training emphasizes technique, tactics, strategy, and mental readiness. Two afternoon sessions per week (approx. 4:00pm - 5:30pm) are required throughout the season for video review and physical conditioning. Entry fees and travel expenses not included in program cost.
Emphasis will be on preparation and achieving goals in Junior World Championships, USSA Grand Prixs, Vans Crown, Revolution Tour, X-Games and other pro-level events. USSA and FIS licenses required. Other association fees may also be necessary. Team 2 athletes will also receive assistance from AVSC coaches in obtaining product and sponsor support. Athletes must qualify or be invited to participate in the Team 2 program.
